Taking these two goobers have the best time leaving Capitol Hill and Central District to go exploring in Snoqualmie at Snow Lake! Because the weather was rainy we got the place mostly to ourselves. They loved jumping over boulders and rocks on this hike. They still found ways to zoom around and play together. Such a fun way for dogs to socialize!

🐾 Timmy's Tail-Wagging Adventures in South Lake Union

Meet Timmy – a spirited one-eyed pup who calls South Lake Union home. Though he’s missing an eye, it doesn’t slow him down. Timmy enjoys leisurely 60-minute walks with his dedicated Trails & Tails dog walker, exploring the vibrant streets and green spaces of Seattle.

🚶‍♂️ A Slow Start, But a Joyful Journey with dog walker

Each walk begins with Timmy taking his time around his block. He’s a fan of sniffing every corner and savoring the sights and sounds of his neighborhood. His walker patiently encourages him, allowing Timmy to set the pace. This gentle approach ensures Timmy feels comfortable and secure.

🌳 Heading to Lake Union Park

As they venture further from home, Timmy's energy picks up. He becomes more enthusiastic, especially as they approach Lake Union Park. The park offers a refreshing change of scenery, with open spaces and the calming presence of water. It's a favorite destination for Timmy, where he can enjoy the outdoors to the fullest.

🐕 Passing by Dog Parks

Along the way, Timmy passes several dog parks. Interestingly, he often ignores them, focused more on his surroundings and the path ahead. This behavior showcases his unique personality and preferences.

❤️ A Bond Built on Trust

Timmy has been with Trails & Tails for two years. The consistency of having the same walker has fostered a strong bond built on trust and understanding. This relationship ensures that each walk is tailored to Timmy's needs, providing him with both physical exercise and mental stimulation.

🐾 Why Timmy's Walks Matter

Timmy's walks aren't just about exercise; they're about connection. They highlight the importance of personalized care and the joy that comes from spending quality time with our canine companions.

A Day in the Life with Rocco: Trails & Tails' Cherished Senior Chihuahua

At Trails & Tails Dog Walking, we believe that every dog has a unique story, and some stories are so heartwarming they deserve to be shared. One such story is that of Rocco, a spirited senior Chihuahua who has been a beloved client of ours for nearly four years. His journey with us is a testament to the deep bonds we form with our furry companions and the special care they deserve.

A Senior with Style

Rocco may be small in stature, but he carries himself with the confidence of a much larger dog. As an older Chihuahua, he has developed some age-related health issues, including vision and hearing impairments. To protect his sensitive eyes from the bright Seattle sun, Rocco sports a stylish pair of doggy sunglasses during our walks. These aren't just a fashion statement; they help shield his eyes from glare and UV rays, ensuring he enjoys his outings without discomfort.

Navigating the Stairs

One of the challenges Rocco faces due to his age is navigating stairs. The strain on his hips makes climbing and descending steps difficult and painful. To accommodate this, we always carry Rocco up and down stairs, ensuring his joints are not overexerted. Once on flat ground, however, Rocco's energy shines through. He trots along with enthusiasm, eager to explore his surroundings and engage with the world around him.

Volunteer Park Adventures

Rocco's favorite destination is Volunteer Park, a lush green space in the heart of Seattle. Here, he enjoys leisurely strolls, the opportunity to sniff around, and the chance to meet new canine friends. While he may be a bit skittish at first when approaching other dogs—likely due to his smaller size and age—Rocco warms up quickly. A few cautious sniffs and a gentle hello are all it takes before he's ready to continue his walk, content and happy.

A Treat-Motivated Pup

Like many dogs, Rocco has a soft spot for treats. His love for tasty morsels makes him easy to motivate during our walks. Whether it's a high-value snack to encourage him to keep moving or a simple reward for good behavior, treats play a significant role in our interactions. They help reinforce positive behaviors and ensure Rocco remains engaged and happy during our time together.

Extra Care for Special Needs

Given Rocco's combined vision and hearing impairments, we take extra precautions during our walks. His limited ability to hear and see means he relies heavily on other senses, particularly smell and touch. We make sure to approach him gently, giving him time to adjust to our presence before leashing up. During walks, we maintain a steady pace, allowing him to explore at his own rhythm and ensuring he feels secure and comfortable.

The Trails & Tails Difference

Rocco's story exemplifies the personalized care and attention to detail that Trails & Tails Dog Walking provides. Our team is dedicated to understanding each dog's individual needs and tailoring our services accordingly. From consistent walkers who build trusting relationships with the dogs to detailed walk reports that keep owners informed, we strive to offer the best care possible.

For Rocco, and dogs like him, it's not just about a walk; it's about ensuring they have a fulfilling and enjoyable experience that caters to their unique needs. Whether it's carrying him up the stairs, providing protective eyewear, or offering a tasty treat, every detail matters.
